AUR 37, Unicamillus 45
The AUR Wolves stepped into ASD San Satturino on Friday night, facing more than just Unicamillus. After traveling across Rome and arriving at a cold, echoing gym, they were already at a disadvantage with no substitutes available. What followed was a game that quickly turned into a test of endurance, momentum, and resilience.
AUR opened with control, racing out to a 12-2 lead that suggested a dominant performance. But basketball momentum is fragile.
Unicamillus found their rhythm from deep, knocking down three-pointers that chipped away at the lead and shifted the game. The Wolves’ early dominance began to slip as the tempo changed and the pressure built.

The turning point wasn’t a shot, but a thud—the sound of Michael Lindenbaum hitting the floor early in the third quarter.
Despite an ankle injury, Lindenbaum refused to leave. He remained the engine, weaving through defenders and scoring floaters that kept AUR in reach.
By the fourth quarter, the fatigue of playing without substitutes began to show. The Wolves continued to fight, but their legs grew heavier, and opportunities became harder to convert. A final, frantic push for stops came too late to close the gap, as Unicamillus secured a 45-37 win.
After the game, athletic director Stefano Cristalli addressed the exhausted group, highlighting their effort despite the circumstances.
“Thanks, guys, for fighting as real Wolves tonight, despite having no subs,” Cristalli said.
As the team headed back home, they were left with the pride of the fight, but the weight of the game slipped away.
