AUR 6, Rome City 3

The Wolves advanced to the final playoff match against Rome City after securing a 6–3 win over Unicamillus.

This was a highly encouraging victory beating a tough opponent.

The momentum swung back and forth between the teams throughout the match, but AUR’s no. 7 Julian Hee clinched the game winner.

AUR started out strong, taking control early on, with Simone Bucciarelli burying a free kick to open the scoring. The Wolves kept the pressure on from there, Gherardo Cocuzza kicking a close-range shot after moving swiftly around the goalkeeper. Hee stole the ball, pushing it down the field, to place it beautifully into the bottom right corner. Alessandro Guist followed with an absolute rocket to give the Wolves a comfortable lead to end the first half ahead 4-0.

For the majority of the game, the Wolves controlled possession of the ball, but Unicamillus refused to let the match go, scoring back-to-back goals, completely changing the energy of the game. Unicamillus added a third to the scoreboard after slipping one just past the keeper, leaving AUR no longer on cruise control. AUR’s presence on the field was sharp, keeping composed during a late comeback attempt.

Unicamillus pushed hard for the equalizer in the last few minutes, its goalkeeper pushing up the field to help try and tie the game, building real pressure in the closing moments. That gamble left the door wide open, giving AUR full advantage.

Whilst Unicamillus outscored the Wolves in the second half, AUR managed to come out on top, booking its place to the next and final round.
